Kids under 6 Years old can:

  • Wash vegetables in a colander
  • Remove husks from corn
  • Measure and pour some ingredients

  • Create their own recipes
  • Operate a food processor (with adult supervision)

Safety TIPS For Cooking With Your Kids!

  1. Wash your hands. The first step when cooking is to always wash your hands.
  2. Dress safely. Avoid clothes with loose sleeves or hoods with strings and always pull back long hair.
  3. Teach the basics. Keep pot handles pointed to the center of the stove, open lids to boiling pots away from you, and never pour cold water in a hot pan.
  4. Supervise. Never leave a child unattended when cooking in the kitchen.
  5. Be prepared. Keep safety items like a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher handy.
